This past August I had the privilege of creating the wedding bouquets for one of my young cousins. It was a picture perfect day at an incredibly beautiful venue, The Wild Rose in Arlington, WA.

Dreams of weddings past….

Some of the weddings I have worked on in the last couple of years did not make it on to the blog.  I am trying to rectify that.  Kayla and Zach were married in August of 2012.  I know….where does the time go?

Weddings in 2015

2015 is going to be a great year for fun, new floral trends and I have listed a few here.  But remember, this is your wedding day and it should be as absolutely unique as you, your fiance, and your life together.

Bountiful bouquets

This style features a lushly gorgeous mix of blooms with different varieties and textures and sizes.  It can be a combination of closely related colors but more often seen as monochromatic bouquets. Creamy whites with ivory, champagne and taupe or reds on every shade from candy apple to garnet to the richest burgundy.  The look is lush, plush and exceedingly elegant.  Most often seen in classically traditional weddings. If the glitter and romance of the Great Gatsby era appeals to you, this is the style to choose.

Bohemian rhapsody

Glorious jewel tones blended with natural organic elements, mosses, stones, vines, fruits,  and sprinkled with wild garden flowers such as peonies, garden roses, clematis, freesia, jasmine, and dahlias.  The look is eclectic, colorful, and fun. This is perfect for the bride who enjoys natural, casually artistic bouquets.

Modern romance

Clean lines, architecturally elegant containers and crisply contemporary displays of flowers are the hallmarks of this style.  All white blooms with a splash of bright color such as vibrant yellow, pure hot pink, or deep crimson are carefully arranged into But the best style or design is the one that reflects your personalities and expresses your love for each other and the people you are sharing your special day with.

English Garden. 

This is a softer, sweeter style of design.  More appealing to brides who prefer a shabby chic aesthetic utilizing a combination of vintage accents, airy fabrics and elegant lace mixed with the rough charm of burlap and twine.  Barn wood and heirloom silver.  The best floral choices might include sweet peas, baby roses, larkspur, delphinium, hydrangea or even simple bouquets of ghypsophilia.

But the best style is the one that reflects your personalities and the love you hold for each other and all the people you've invited to share this special day with you.

Summer weddings

I find I am a little behind on posting wedding flower pictures so I will be inundating you with photos over the next week or so.  First up, My son’s wedding last summer.  It was held at the lovely Maplehurst Farm in Mount Vernon, WA  in early August.  Pretty much the perfect time of year for outdoor weddings in our corner of the

A September Wedding

A few scenes from my nephews September wedding at The Wild Rose in Arlington.

 

 

The tall vases had inverted gladiolas wrapped in submersible lights to support their centerpieces.

 Half of the table top centerpieces were low and surrounded by a drift of coral rose petals.

 The head table was a simple garland of ivy, ruscus, and crystal sprays, leaving plenty of room for the bridal parties bouquets.

 This would be me installing the arbor bouquet.  My granddaughter, Kateryna was acting as our company photographer that day.  She did a great job.

 Mission complete!

 The aisle decor was a simple nosegay of babysbreath slipped into a sparkling cone hand crafted by the bride herself.  A dusting of rose petals and a sweep of white organza completed the look.
