People from a world without flowers must think we would be mad with joy all the time to have such things around us....

July at the Grand Willow Inn

I am always happy to be asked to do wedding flowers at the Grand Willow Inn.
It is a lovely space with a sweeping staircase in the main hall, a stately fireplace crowned with an amazing vintage mirror.  The glorious gardens are perfection  from May through September. Truly a one of kind venue here in the Pacific Northwest.

The bride picked an assortment of wonderful summer garden flowers to use in her bouquets.
The colors were an amazing mix of berry tones and soft greys.
These two photos were taken in the shop.  As you can see, the bouquet for the fireplace mantle took up nearly all the space on my 10' work table.
And this is what it looked like when we got it into place at the Grand Willow.
The bride asked for a touch of sparkle on all her bouquets.  And especially in the Bridal bouquet.
The centerpieces had a band of crystals wrapped around each vase.

And the taller bouquets for the buffet tables were also accented with bands of crystals.

A special thank you to all the people that volunteered to come help to create these wonderful bouquets.  We worked like mad to get it all done and delivered the day before my husband's open heart surgery.  I couldn't have done it with out all of you.  Jan Johnson, Dianna Clark, Joy Johnson (with Lexie Rogers) and Michelle Manduchi Ford.  You were all AWESOME!
And thank you to Connie at the Grand Willow Inn for allowing us to set it all up the day before.

A wedding at Vanderveen Farm

There have been quite a few weddings going on in #FlowerWorld this year.  One of my favorites was at a brand new venue called VanderVeen farms back in August.  The venue started out as  a working dairy but has been updated into a fun, cozy barn venue.  If a rustic, country style wedding is your jam, then this is the place for you!

It is located just west of Mount Vernon on the Memorial Hwy. right next door to
Schuh Farms here in the lovely Skagit Valley.  It has views of the surrounding farms, mountains and even Mount Baker on a good day.  The chapel is located upstairs and the wide open space on the ground floor is perfect for dancing and dining with all your closest friends and family.
